The Montreal Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD) envisions a world where children with hearing loss reach their full potential.

To that end, the mission of the MOSD is to give children with hearing loss the opportunity to learn to listen and speak.

About Montreal Oral School for the Deaf
Founded in 1950 as an alternative to sign language education, the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf is the first and only school of its kind in Montreal and is one of only three in all of Canada.

With the use of technology – hearing aids and cochlear implants – the school provides habilitation, education and support for children with hearing loss from infancy to early adulthood. The school’s multidisciplinary approach ensures students and their families receive free of charge linguistic, cognitive, social and emotional support in specialized school settings, in neighborhood schools and at home.
